June 20th Wedding - Kim and Jerome, no wait Jeremy

    June 20, 2009

Ok the title is an inside joke, and this is an inside wedding.

For those that don't know, Yanman Photographers is a bit of a family business.

My brother Joe shoots weddings with me and even one or two on his own, my wife assisted me at many weddings before our daughter was born, and my sister-in-law Marcy now assists me from time to time. While there are some other non-related "family" members helping out, we still think of everyone as family.

So when my brother asked for some assistance photography an up-coming "friend of the family" wedding, I couldn't say no. Well I could have but it wouldn't have been pretty, since Marcy was in the wedding party, and brother Joe was asking really nicely (hard for him to do trust me ;o)

So here are just a few of my favorites from the day, plus a couple to introduce you to our team members ...

First It's hair and makeup time -

A little something to come the nerves, not mine, or the brides for that matter. Hmm why are the bridesmaids nervous?

Here is Marcy getting ready, my brother had to remind me that she wasn't assisting in taking pictures, she was IN this wedding. Joe took this picture which he was quick to point out to me when Marcy posted it on Facebook ...

Well here is something a bit different, the Photographers have name cards and a place at the guest tables. Normally I wouldn't sit with the guests, but since many of them were part of extended family ...

Here is the happy couple ...

Joe always nails the detail shots ...

This is why people get married at county clubs ...

    First Dance ...

And last but not least, a shot of my brother Joe and his wife Molly. Molly thank you for keeping him in-line!

May 30th Wedding -Brynn & Joel

    June 13, 2009

Brynn & Joel got Married at the beautiful Royal Crest Room in St. Cloud.

I love when couple opt to see each other before the wedding, while this is a obvious break in tradition, it can make for some very powerful pictures.

Here are just a very few of my favorites from the day:

Joel, waiting on his bride -

Such a great place for a picture - and a kiss!

Some Fun During the formals! Mine, no mine ...

    Very Chic Table settings.

And they left with sparklers all around! Sparkler shots are always cool...

I'll leave you with a fun one that ended up as my Facebook image for a while -

Crystal and Daniel's Cocoa Beach Wedding

    November 16, 2008

I know that up north there is a "Wedding Session" but here in mostly sunny Florida, people get married year-round. And not just indoors.

Crystal and Daniel got married, at the Holiday Inn on Cocoa Beach, in the evening, in November, and it was still in the high seventies when we got started!

I guess that is why we all moved to Florida.

Here are some wedding images to keep you warm if you live where it snows -

    A night to remember ...

    July 2, 2008

It is so fantastic to have a relationship with a world class resort.

From the first time I met with Michelle Sanderson at Mystic Dunes, I knew that I wanted to work with her and the resort.

We will be shooting Katie and Brody's wedding there in just a few weeks, so look for those pictures here soon. We will have much more on our partnership with Mystic Dunes in a future blog post.

Thanks to Michelle's recommendation, I got to shoot pictures at Mystic Dunes parent company Tempus Resorts International's VIP awards party held at the Hard Rock Live at Universal City walk.

I had a great time, here are some pictures from the event ...

Everyone seemed to be having such a great time, and everyone was so nice!

Daytona Beach - Destination Engagement Shoot

    June 18, 2008

We get a lot of requests to do engagement shoots on the beach. Nothing odd there.

We get a few requests from people coming to Florida from out of town to take wedding pictures or engagement pictures. Nothing we haven't seen there either.

But an out of town couple requesting an engagement session on the beach on their Honeymoon? Yep!

So here is John & MJ's Engagement Photo Session on Dayton Beach. They are from Long Island and they were married on April 18, and their session was on May 1.

    A photo Contest

    June 12, 2008

Ok so I never enter these things.

I'm not sure if it is because I feel that as a professional photographer it is unfair or if it has more to do with the fact that I just never win anything.

Some things came together on this contest though -

    1. It's title is "Nikon Moving Moments" and that is really why I love photography, I love to capture the moment.

    2. It is a Nikon contest, and I shoot with Nikon cameras (we have four Nikon cameras, if you count the point and shoot my wife has)

    3. The picture of my daughter being born has gotten the most comments of any picture I've taken.

You can view the photo by clicking the link below, I'll let you know how to vote starting on June 25th. I may still never win anything, but it was fun to enter.
